What was broken
A home-appliance retailer outgrew WooCommerce. We rebuilt the store in 10 weeks and moved it without losing a single Google ranking.
Before: the old store
- Category pages took 4.1 s on mobile
- Checkout had 4 steps and lost a third of buyers
- Stock was updated by hand from accounting
- Every plugin update broke something
Approach: what we did
- Next.js front end with server rendering and an image CDN
- One-step checkout with saved addresses
- Laravel API synced with accounting every 5 minutes
- 9,400 URLs redirected one by one to keep rankings
Ten weeks, five sprints
| Week | Work |
|---|---|
| wk 1 | Discovery & map of 9,400 URLs |
| wk 2–3 | UI design, tested with 8 real customers |
| wk 4–5 | Product page, filters and instant search |
| wk 6–7 | One-step checkout & gateways |
| wk 8 | Accounting sync |
| wk 9–10 | Load tests, redirects and a night launch |
